The Design Process
Initial Meeting and Site Visit
The design process begins with a site visit to discuss your landscape objectives and to develop an understanding of the both the site and client needs. We will review examples of complete projects and photographs to gain a more thorough understanding of your desires and budgetary requirements. With a better understanding of your objectives we will outline the steps involved in reaching the next phase of your project.
Once it has been determined that both parties choose to proceed with the project, we provide a written agreement which will define the terms of our services.
Site Assessment
A plan of existing conditions is developed and becomes the basis for further design work. We evaluate drainage, soil condition, conservation considerations, vistas, wanted or unwanted screening and the architectural features of the home. Photographs and measurements are taken to aid in the design process. We work with registered engineers and to determine boundaries and other relevant site conditions. We will work with the Conservation Commission to ensure environmental compliance.
Concept Development
During the concept development we evaluate design alternatives, the client objectives, hardscapes and plant materials. This process creates a better understanding of our clients needs and gives us the insight to proceed to the Final Design.
Final Design
Upon acceptance of the proposed design concept and budget we develop the Master Plan. A Master Plan includes specifications pertaining to the complete design. Specifications will include a construction details pertaining to lighting, masonry and construction and plant list. Final budgets, fee schedules, sub-contractor lists and schedules are included in the Final Design plan.
